This beautiful coastal route runs the length of the Moray Firth, from the famous fishing town of Fraserburgh to Inverness, capital of the Scottish Highlands and the UK’s most northerly city.

Breathe the Sea Air

Fraserburgh is a major fishing port in Aberdeenshire and provides an atmospheric backdrop to the start of this seaside ride. Leave the town on the B9031 road and follow its twists and turns as it hugs the rugged coastline of the Moray Firth.

Rush of the Wind

The relatively flat landscape makes for large horizons and big skies as you make your way through Banffshire towards Morayshire. Weather can change in a heartbeat here so take care to adjust your speed if the wind whips off the Firth. Alternatively, pick up the A96 around Elgin for a smoother, more stable ride away from the water.
