This U-shaped Scottish motorcycle route takes a very scenic path from Huntly to Dufftown, journeying through the north Cairngorms and the wild open glens of Speyside, home to many of Scotland’s most well-known whisky distilleries.

A wild motorcycle route

The Scottish motorcycle route starts on the A97, an old military road, running south through wild, windswept glens to Cock Bridge and then onto the small skiing area of Lecht. The road is twisty and although usually quiet, always look again when overtaking as it’s getting busier going into summer.

Pit stop

The attractive Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey is the perfect place to stop for a break, before turning onto the larger A95. From here, follow the banks of the River Spey. You’ll notice whisky distilleries on your left and right as you meander towards Dufftown in wide, open countryside.
